What is Brick Reinforcing Mesh?

The brick mesh is a high qulaity expanded galvanised or stainless steel mesh for use primarily as anti-cracking reinforcement or brick reinforcing.
Galvanized coil mesh is available in a variety of withs (50mm, 100mm, 150mm, 200mm, 250mm). This reinforcing plaster mesh could suit most wall constructions. It is supplied coilded for ease of handling. The additional application of Brick mesh include strengthening cornices, low walls and balconies over door and window openings.

Brickwork Reinforcement Mesh are produced for brick and block work reinforcement.The popular thickness is 0.35mm.We can produce the length from 10m-100m.Their primary uasge is to prevent cracking, embedded in the normal thickness of a brickwork joint, brick reinforcement meshes reduce the detrimental effects of vibration and changes of temperature. Brick reinforcement meshes increase resistance to tensional stress.

How to install Brick mesh?
 

The coil mesh is laid in strips between brick or block courses leaving approximately 25mm clearance from the faces of the work. Where coil mesh joins are required, ensure they overlap by at least 75mm.

The reinforcement is then simply embedded in the mortar for the next course.

In most instances, application every third course, for the full length of the wall, will be sufficient.

To reinforce brickwork at an opening, e.g. window or door, mesh should be installed to overlap part of the opening, and part of the solid wall.

Thinking of the width of the opening, lay the mesh approximately a quarter of the way across the opening. The mesh should lie the same distance again, across the solid wall.

Above windows or doors, install Catnic mesh for 2-3 courses, starting from the course above the lintel .
