Electric welded gabion mesh is a different kind of gabion mesh. When it comes to gabion mesh, everyone will think of the hexagonal mesh used for stones on the riverside, under the bridge, and on the dam. That is also a kind of gabion mesh, called hexagonal gabion mesh, gabion mesh, Reno mat, etc. It has the same function as electric welded gabion mesh, but the habitual use is different. The hexagonal gabion mesh is twisted and woven by a gabion mesh machine, and there is no welding point as a whole. This is one of the differences from the electric welded gabion mesh. In addition, the wire diameter of hexagonal gabion mesh is relatively small, no more than 4 mm, usually 2-3 mm, while the wire diameter of welded gabion mesh is usually above 4 mm, and the horizontal steel wire even reaches 10 mm. In addition, hexagonal gabion mesh is generally used in large areas, basically not used alone. It is easy to deform during installation, and often needs to be fixed externally before filling with stones. On the other hand, welded gabion mesh is often used as a landscape fence alone, so the steel wire is thicker and not easy to deform. Generally, only reinforcing ribs need to be installed inside for support.

Aperture: The aperture is the distance from the centre of one wire to the centre of the next both horizontally and vertically. We are currently producing as standard products both 4mm and 5mm mesh in 75mm x 75mm aperture and 4mm in 100mm x 50mm aperture.
 

75mm x 75mm aperture

The most common size. When calculating cage sizes take into account that all lengths, widths and heights will be in increments of 75mm. Overall it is easier working with a square aperture than a 75mm x 75mm rectangular one, however a rectangular aperture can have a stunning look.

100mm x 50mm aperture

When calculating cage sizes take into account that lengths, widths will be usually be in increments of 100mm and heights 50mm. This is based upon it being more common for 100mm in the horizontal plane.

 

Assembling accessories

Spiral connection:

Spirals are one method to connect panels to build a gabion cage.

Spirals are the strongest connection method Spiral cage joiners are also supplied (larger diameter than standard spirals)

 

C rings connection: 
This connection method requires a gabion C ringer tool (available for purchase)

U-clip:

Starting with the first aperture, place a clip and tighten using the pliers.Make the panels as square as possible before tightening.

Continue all around, connecting every 150mm for 75x75mm, every 100mm for 100x50mm & 50x50mm.
